GU History
Dr. Mona Al-Zayani, an educational specialist, first envisioned since 1985 the creation and establishment of higher education college that could enhance not only the careers of students in Bahrain and the Gulf Region, but also prepare and develop students to become responsible members of that society.
The official registration of GU with the Ministry of Education for its scheduled academic programs was effective from September 21st, 2002; on the basis of his highness’s the prime minister’s cabinet decree number 1649-03 issued on the 2nd of September, 2001.
