List of International Public and Private Schools in Bahrain

When you relocate to Bahrain with your family, it can be very challenging finding suitable education for your children. There are many international schools in Bahrain and your choice of school will depend on what curriculum you would like your child to follow and also depends on your budget. The educational system will most likely provide a highly similar curriculum and school environment as your home country and your children are accustomed to. You will find many students with the same background as your own children which will make it a lot easier to adapt to school and their new life in Bahrain.

You also have the choice of a Public School. Public schools in Bahrain are governed by the Ministry of Education in the Kingdom and have to comply with the rigorous rules and regulations set by the Ministry. Education is compulsory for all students in the Kingdom of Bahrain and free education is offered to both Bahraini and non-Bahraini nationals in the public schools. Around 80% of the pupils come from Bahraini families, the remaining 20% have mostly British, Irish and the American nationality.

There is a council of international schools CoIS, this is a non-profit association of international schools and post-secondary institutions. It provides educational accreditation and offers teachers and leadership recruitment services and can help you in finding a new school. If you would like more information, visit their website: https://www.cois.org/page.cfm?p=1884, often there are open job vacancies for teaching jobs in Bahrain or contact the schools asking if they have any job openings for teachers.
